    Larsen 8 is a heavy speaker compared to L6. The explanation is quite simple: It is a 2,5 way speaker with 2 pieces of 18 cm bass drivers from Scan-Speak in each cabinet. That’s it! Among the best you can get. The big brother in the Larsen series is well equipped all the way through. The two high quality Scan-Speak drivers, working together under 300 Hz inside separate chambers, create a deep, crisp and precise bass, all the way down to 23 Hz. Above it, a true and clean mid-range, topped off by a clear and transparent high quality Scan-Speak tweeter with great dispersion and fluidity. The stainless steel plate around the extremely light polymer membrane in the tweeter is uniqe and work . Because it is totally integrated , it reproduces the upper octaves with more body, an amazing treble character and a more linear frequency response. The legendary ScanSpeak drivers and tweeters used in the Larsen 8 are a real bonus. Normally you won´t find these elements in this price range.

    The model was introduced in Sweden in 2008 but the big success waited until the introduction in US and the European countries. But then it came. Since 2015 we have got Editor`s Choice Award from The Absolute Sound. Six in a row and more chances left! That`s what we call sustainable sound design.

    Larsen 8 took the step into the group “High-End-Speakers”. “Best in Show in Bristol 2017 and several other very pleasant reviews. With Larsen 8 we have boosted all the good qualities to a new level. Still placed flush against the wall and still with no need of a subwoofer. You get all the bass you want down to 23 Hz and a 3D-soundstage which is among the best you can get!

    Autumn 2018 the version was changed to 8.2. Better bass element – 18W-8545 ver 01 – replaced the two and we got a better interaction between the elements and less distorsion.
